There’s something very appealing about a cream blusher in the summer – and they don’t come much more appealing packaging-wise than Sisley Phyto-Blush Twist (£43). But does it do the biz? I’ve been wearing it for the last ten days or so, through really warm weather, and the normal May mix, and I’m quite taken with it.
The idea behind Sisley Phyto-Blush Twist is that you can add a pop of flattering colour in one single stroke on each cheek. It goes on like a cream that melts onto the skin but it then transforms into a delicate powder with a soft-focus effect. Its formula contains Shea oil and Camellia oil so it’s comfortable and hydrating for the skin, and it also contains a film-forming wax designed to make it last well.
There are four shades of Sisley Phyto-Blush Twist – Petal, a subtle rose; Fuchsia, a vibrant pink; Papaya, a bright coral, and Glow, a pearlised highlighter. I have been using the Papaya shade, and I love its freshness and how it gives my cheeks a very natural and flattering radiance – plus I love that it ties in with my favourite summer colour, coral, which is my go-to shade for lips, as well as eyes, earrings, shoes. (Can you tell I’m crazy for coral?!)
I can’t say I particularly noticed the Phyto-Blush Twist being long-lasting but it certainly didn’t last any less time than I would expect from a cream blusher – and, in any case, it’s very easy to re-apply on the go. I’m not sure I would pay £43 for a blusher, but on the flip side, you only need a single stroke on each cheek so it will last a long time!
