Revlon Youth FX Fill Blur Concealer (£11.99) is one of four products in the recently launched Revlon Youth FX collection, a range of products created to help make users look younger by – as the press release says – “dramatically and instantly transforming the look of lines and wrinkles”.
Since all wrinkles are different, Revlon designed four targeted products – Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Concealer, Fill + Blur Primer for Face/Neck, Fill + Blur Primer for Forehead and Fill + Blur Foundation – to be used in combination or alone. Each item in the collection contains a formula developed with “Fill + Blur technology”, designed to transform wrinkles instantly. The formula’s unique combination of soft focus powders scatter light, “blurring” wrinkles and Revlon claims that this results in skin that looks younger within seconds.
I’m not sure I could say that Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Concealer made me look younger in seconds, or that it “dramatically” transformed the look of lines and wrinkles but I was certainly very impressed by this fabulous concealer – not least by its very light texture and the way that it subtly masks dark circles under the eyes and smoothed (though didn’t erase) fine lines there.
Whereas many under-eye concealers which I’ve tried in the past have only drawn attention to the lines, by producing a cakey effect and accentuating the lines to the extent that they end up resembling grooves (Bobbi Brown I’m talking to you!), Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Concealer is so light that it is almost sheer and since it’s not a cream, it doesn’t clog up the crevices. The sponge applicator helps ensure that you don’t use too much; using pen concealers often encourages overloading of product.
Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Concealer is available in just three shades. I found the palest one to be ideal; not only does it help to camouflage the under-eye issues, but it also brightens the area and gives me a boost when required.
