I was really looking forward to trying out Origins By All Greens (£30), a foaming and deep cleansing mask designed to instantly detox and deep-clean skin. As someone who is very picky about wash-off cleansers – so many of them leave my skin feeling dehydrated and tight – I had high hopes for this one since Origins claims that it doesn’t dry or strip the skin.
Packed with antioxidants and ingredients known for their detox powers, Origins By All Greens (which is indeed the colour of Kermit) smells gorgeous and goes on to the skin like a mask. The creamy kaolin clay in it morphs into a cooling rich foam almost as soon as it’s applied, and gently removes make-up, dirt and pollutants from the skin while unclogging pores. After a minute or two, you are supposed to wet your fingers and massage the mask into the skin, to reactivate the foam, before rinsing the whole lot off.
Each time I’ve used Origins By All Greens, I have felt the old tightness in my skin – even after using it on damp skin, which is what is recommended if you suffer from sensitivity. My skin certainly looked a little brighter each time but Origins By All Greens certainly didn’t turn out to be the pleasure to use that I had been expecting and hoping for; it doesn’t come close to Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask for me in terms of pleasure to use and comfort (though it doesn’t claim the detoxing benefits)… And, pssst – the Lauder is £7.50 cheaper!
