Max Factor FaceFinity Compact (£10.99) is an updated version of Max Factor’s hugely popular powder foundation which has been around for a few years.
Packaged in a very slim compact, Max Factor FaceFinity Compact contains high levels of oil-absorbing powders, water-resistant pigments and long-lasting particles, and is designed to offer buildable, enduring coverage with a matte finish. The 2018 version of the FaceFinity Compact has an increased level of sun protection – up to 20 from 15. And it comes in eleven shades.
So, how did I get on with Max Factor FaceFinity Compact? Well, contrary to my expectations, I loved it! In my twenties, powders were my top choice of foundations as they were a great way to sort out the shininess that plagued me, but now that I’m in my forties – and still occasionally shine-prone – I tend to avoid them as they can sit on top of the skin and make it look cakey and older than it is. However, Max Factor FaceFinity Compact manages to look natural, invisible even, and feel as if you’re not wearing any foundation at all.
What I love about Max Factor FaceFinity Compact is that it provides subtle yet very effective coverage which does indeed last and last. And the range of 11 shades – especially the choice for pale skins, which have several options available to them – is very impressive. I think that Max Factor FaceFinity Compact will become a staple in my make-up bag as it is ideal for touching up foundation on the go, which I usually have to do after eating when I want to re-apply my lipstick.
