L’Oréal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash (£3.99) is one of four cleansers in L’Oréal’s new Fine Flowers collection. Each cleanser is a blend of rose, known for its its ability to soothe and comfort, and jasmine, which protects and moisturises.
I’ve already reviewed the Fine Flowers Cleansing Cream, which is an old-fashioned wipe-off cream cleanser. L’Oréal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash, on the other hand, is massaged onto damp skin and rinsed off. It has a lovely scent and a pleasing creamy texture which transforms into a foam once it’s wet. I’ve found that it does a pretty good job of removing make-up and giving the skin a thorough cleanse.
Like the rest of the Fine Flowers collection, L’Oréal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash is recommended for dry and sensitive skins. My skin is prone to dehydration and to redness and unfortunately I found that – unlike with the Fine Flowers Cleansing Cream which felt wonderfully comforting – L’Oréal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash, on several occasions, left my skin looking a little red and feeling very slightly dry.
I’d say that L’Oréal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash is probably best suited to younger skins or normal and oilier complexions – and I’ll be sticking to the more expensive (twice the price!) and more richly textured Fine Flowers Cleansing Cream.
