No sooner have I got over the disappointment of Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator (which promised 72 hours’ moisturisation), than along comes GlamGlow Waterburst Hydrated Glow Moisturiser (£39), which makes the same claim.
This thick but gel-like moisturiser is described as “a weightless water cream formulated with water from Jeju Island, a jewel in the South Sea of Korea, and GlamGlow’s cutting-edge Moisture-Lock Technology to deliver 72 hours of instant and continuous hydration deep into your skin for a supple, hydrated Glow”. (Note the capital “G”!)
GlamGlow Waterburst harnesses the thirst-quenching and skin-plumping capabilities of Hyaluronic Acid, as well as Blue Nymph Lily Extract, to replenish the skin and ensure instant and continuous hydration and glowing skin. (Aren’t you just sick of hearing about glowing skin; I know I am!)
However, I’m not convinced. Yes, GlamGlow Waterurst feels hydrating as it’s being applied – though it takes a while to sink in and it’s easy to use far too much. Each time I’ve used it, I’ve found that my skin feels tacky and looks shiny, even after applying my foundation – so much so that I’ve had to dig out my old pressed powder .. And as for the 72 hours’ moisturisation claim, well I still felt the need to moisturise at bedtime, having used Waterburst in the morning! So, it’s a thumbs-down from me.
Anyone else tried GlamGlow Waterburst? Did you fare any better?
