GlamGlow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer

October 27, 2017

GlamGlow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer (£39) is the latest product from the Hollywood beauty brand which brought us the Glam Glow GravityMud Mask which I reviewed earlier this year.

GlamGlow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer is a clever multi-tasker designed to control shine, hydrate and prime, thus imbuing skin with a “matte glow”. The idea is to create a complexion inspired by Hollywood skin – sexy but not shiny; glowing but not greasy – and to leave you with the perfect matte-glow canvas for make-up.

The volcanic minerals in GlamGlow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer have absorbent powers that act like microscopic sponges to help soak up oil so the skin doesn’t become shiny, while a blend of cherry tomato leaf, prickly pear, and winter daphne flora works with such ingredients as Vitamin B5 to nourish and fortify the skin’s barrier and help skin feel calm and instantly replenished.

So, how did I get on with GlamGlow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer? Well, it is indeed a very novel product which instantly – and seemingly miraculously – transforms skin. It looks like a butter and it melts into the skin, smelling – incidentally – like a Terry’s Chocolate Orange as it sinks in. It immediately improves the look of the skin by boosting radiance while blurring fine lines and mattifying the complexion, and it also gives you an instant hit of moisture.

In addition to all that, I found that GlamGlow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer evened out the redness in my skin. However, what I didn’t like about it was that after the initial hydration hit, my skin felt a little dry to the touch and the only option foundation-wise was a serum one with a bit of manoeuvrability in it. On subsequent occasions, I’ve used the GlamGlow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer after a moisturising mask or a hydrating serum in order to ensure more comfort.

Now that I’ve sussed out how to use it, I will definitely be cracking it out for special occasions or any time I feel I need a boost.
