Givenchy Base Mascara Perfecto (£25) may well be the product you never thought you needed – until you’d given it a whirl.
A primer for the lashes which provides a base for your coloured mascara, Givenchy Base Mascara Perfecto is designed to boost and prolong the look of your mascara while revitalising and protecting the lashes. It also promises to maximise the volume of lashes.
Givenchy Base Mascara Perfecto has an unusual smooth pink formula and is enriched with natural ingredients, Cotton Nectar and Soy Proteins, to nourish and protect the lashes before you apply your mascara. The black fibres of the dual-colour brush are designed to separate and coat lashes while the soft white fibres should allow easy application.
The last mascara base I tried left me skeptical so I approached Givenchy Base Mascara Perfecto with some cynicism. But you know what? I haven’t stopped using it since – because it really does do what it promises. It boosts the lashes, taming uncooperative and unruly lashes (mine sometimes have a tendency to go in different directions from each other) as it goes on. By some miracle, mascara which you might previously have been unimpressed by suddenly produces a much more striking effect – thanks to the base coat.
So, if you feel that your mascara is underperforming – or if you just need to up the va-va–voom of your eyelashes, this is a luxury buy that’s definitely worth checking out. But watch you don’t make the mistake I have made a couple of times – of forgetting to follow through with the coloured mascara. No wonder I’ve attracted attention on those days – albino-like pink lashes isn’t a look I can easily pull off!
