Estée Lauder Revitalising Supreme Eye Gelée (£42) is one of a collection of Lauder skincare products launched last year, and based around an ingredient – Moringa extract – which the US beauty brand claims will “unlock” the skin’s youth potential and target multiple signs of ageing, leaving skin firmer-feeling and improving its elasticity. Not only that but – Lauder claims – lines and wrinkles appear reduced after use and skin looks more radiant, nourished and revitalised.
The particular aim of Estée Lauder Revitalising Supreme Eye Gelée is to make the delicate skin around the eye area feel firmer and look brighter. Its metal-tipped cooling massage applicator is designed to boost microcirculation and reinvigorate the skin.
Presented in pen form, Estée Lauder Revitalising Supreme Eye Gelée looks like it’s easy to use: you squeeze the soft panel on the top of the pen to release some of the product which you then massage around the eyes.
I liked the actual product very much. The consistency is just right for my eye skin – not too runny and not so firm that you have to drag your skin as you apply it. It does help with puffiness and brightness – on a day-to-day basis, as you use it. However, I found the pen a pain to use: I had to squeeze and squeeze the panel (which is awkwardly positioned) to get any product out and it just seemed like too much effort was required! I was also surprised to read that the applicator was supposed to have a cooling effect as I didn’t notice it.
So .. nice product, shame about the application.
