Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Everyday Perfection Bouncy Makeup (£28) is yet another example of how far compact foundations have come in the last 20 years – though possibly not in the streamlining of their names ..
This bizarrely named Bouncy Makeup is presumably so-called because it is formulated with an innovative network of polymers that mimic the skin’s natural movement while sealing in pigments, essential oils and antioxidants. A hybrid powder and cream in a gel format, it’s designed to dull imperfections, brighten the skin and leave it feeling soft and hydrated.
I must say, I have been very impressed indeed with Elizabeth Arden Bouncy Makeup – much more than I expected to be, if truth be told. The foundation looks very sheer on the sponge when you’re applying it, so I was concerned it wouldn’t give me as much coverage as I like. However, it turns out that it offers pretty decent, medium coverage which lasts very well – and, in any case, you can always top it up on the go since it’s in a compact.
What I like best about the Bouncy Makeup, however, is the fact that the coverage – while blurring lines to some extent, and hiding uneven skin tone – looks very natural, and gives the complexion a touch of radiance; just enough to make you look healthy on days when you feel like death warmed up!
There are an impressive 14 shades in the range; I’ve been using 02 Alabaster which is pretty much spot-on for my skin colour.
