Dior Capture Totale Serum Foundation (£65) has saved my life in recent weeks! Having run out of my beloved Max Factor Ageless Elixir Miracle Foundation, and then discovering that it has been discontinued, I’ve been desperately searching for a worthy replacement. And unfortunately the best candidate has proved to be this £65 product – so I’d better enjoy it while it lasts, and make it last!
What’s so good about Dior Capture Totale Serum Foundation then, I hear you ask … Well, first of all, it instantly improves the appearance of the complexion: even just the teeniest amount, pressed on with a foundation brush, immediately brightens and smoothes the skin. Fine lines are blurred and redness is evened out. Dior Capture Totale Serum Foundation’s aim, after all, is to deliver a vibrant and youthful complexion.
Actually, Dior describe this foundation as having a “triple correcting effect”: it claims it can smoothe contours, improve luminosity and even skin tones. And I’d say it definitely ticks all those boxes, without a doubt. Plus it has an SPF of 25 which is not always easy to come by in a foundation.
Dior Capture Totale Serum Foundation comes in nine shades. I’ve been wearing the 010 Ivory, but it is possibly a tiny bit on the peachy side for me; I suspect that the 012 Porcelain might be a better bet as it looks as if it might have a pink undertone to it. I’ve also tested this foundation with Dior Dreamskin under it, and can report that when I wear that gorgeous primer, the foundation ends up looking shiny very quickly. For best results – so far – I use it over just a moisturiser. This gives me a natural finish which lasts all day; certainly a lot longer than the old Max Factor did, but then it is five times the price … eek!
