I wasn’t too convinced by Clinique 2-in-1 Cleansing Micellar Gel Light Makeup Remover (£17) when I first tried it last year but I think, on that occasion, that was because I wasn’t using it properly – because I couldn’t read the tiny print on the back of the tube.
Whereas I originally thought that you apply this gel as you would a micellar water – with a cotton wool pad – I now realise (thanks to my reading glasses!) that you actually apply it with your fingers and then tissue it off.
Clinique 2-in-1 Cleansing Micellar Gel is billed as an oil-free dual-action micellar gel which breaks into water to both gently remove makeup and cleanse skin of impurities in one quick step. It is designed to leave the skin fresh, smooth and free of residue – with no rinsing required. And it’s safe to use on the eyes.
I used it on my eyes on cotton wool as there was no way I was going to put gel on my eyelids with my fingers – when it is so difficult to control how much product comes out of this tube at a time. That is a big issue with Clinique 2-in-1 Cleansing Micellar Gel: because of the squeeze tube, it’s difficult to control how much gel comes out. Each time I’ve used it on my face, I’ve had far too much of the stuff, so there is quite a bit of waste.
I’m still using the gel but in the mornings to freshen up my skin, rather than at night as a make-up remover as I just haven’t found it to be as thorough and effective as I would like – or as am I used to, thanks to recent cleansing balms.
Have you tried Clinique 2-in-1 Cleansing Micellar Gel? How did you find it?
