Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Sparkle Sticks (£23) are limited edition eye shadow crayons with a pearlescent finish – not a type of eye colour product I would normally consider splashing out on. I was fully expecting to be unimpressed by them, not least because non-powder eye shadows can be a bit hit or miss on me, with my naturally oily eyelids. It’s so depressing to use a lovely new cream shadow, and think it looks great – only to find that it has slid into the crease of your eyelids after an hour or two…
But there was none of that disappointment with Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Sparkle Sticks, which last extremely well – hours and hours of wear. They go on as quite a sheer, but glistening veil which it’s very easy to build up and blend if you want more depth of colour, and they remain fade-proof thanks to a water-based gel technology – which presumably also explains their cooling, refreshing texture which allows them to glide on very easily.
The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Sparkle Sticks are also very versatile: I’ve been enjoying using them as washes – both for a light hint of colour and sparkle, and for a more intense look – and over other eyeshadows when I want to alter their appearance or add a it of texture or a contrasting/complementary colour.
Pictured are the Aurora Pink and Gilded shades which I’ve been trying – and I’m so impressed that I have already got my eye on a couple more shades of these dreamy sticks. Put it this way, I have fallen for them big-time!
